Pupil Premium

Pupil premium is additional funding provided to schools for supporting more disadvantaged pupils to ensure they benefit from the same opportunities as all other children. There are three categories of children that qualify for pupil premium:

  • Children who are eligible for free school meals (FSM).
  • Looked after children.
  • Armed forces children.
From Sept 2021, any COVID Recovery Funding will also be included in the new  Pupil Premium Statement as directed by the government. 
 
The school has a very small proportion of children who are eligible for pupil premium (9%).  Please see our Pupil Premium Statement below for how we intend to spend our funding.

Pupil Premium 2019/20
 
The allocation for 2019/20 is £11,160 which is for 3 FSM and 1 post LAC child. The additional support is used:

  • Working with the teaching assistant in class - reference high quality first teaching.
  • Receiving core Literacy and Numeracy lessons in a smaller group with extra support and interventions in reading and maths for three afternoons per week - linked to teaching assistant salary (KS2).
  • One to one support and small group work to support a specific child with a focus on social skills, emotional support and speech and language linked to teaching assistant.
  • Support for educational trips, uniform, Wrap around care and music tuition.
Provision of additional resources and equipment. The respective children's progress and attainment is tracked and monitored carefully to ensure they achieve their full potential.

All pupils are working at Age Related Expectations with 2FSM and 1 LAC making above average progress in reading.

At the time of the school closure on 20 March 2020, all pupils were working at Age Related Expectations with 2FSM and 1 LAC making above average progress in reading. Music Tuition has resulted on one pupil achieving her Gold Award.
 
 
Pupil Premium 2018/19
 
The allocation for 2018/19 is £12,800. This additional support is intended for:

  • Working with the teaching assistant in class - reference high quality first teaching.
  • Receiving core Literacy and Numeracy lessons in a smaller group with extra support and interventions in reading and maths for three afternoons per week - linked to teaching assistant salary (KS2).
  • One to one support for specific children with a focus on social skills and speech and language linked to teaching assistant EYFS and KS1.
  • Support for educational trips, uniform, Wrap around care and music tuition.
  • Provision of additional resources and equipment. The respective children's progress and attainment is tracked and monitored carefully to ensure they achieve their full potential.
  • The impact has been seen in the progress made specifically by a pupil who joined us in Year 5.
Pupil Premium 2017/18
 
The allocation for 2017/18 was £11,800 (6%). This additional support is intended for:

  • Working with the teaching assistant in class - reference high quality first teaching.
  • Receiving core Literacy and Numeracy lessons in a smaller group with extra support and interventions in reading and maths for three afternoons per week – linked to Teaching assistant salary (KS2).
  • One to one support for specific children on social skills, emotional development (KS1).
  • Speech and language support in EYFS.
  • Support for educational trips, uniform, Wrap around care and extra curricula activities.
The respective children's progress and attainment is tracked and monitored carefully by our SENCO to ensure that pupils achieve their full potential.
 
Pupil Premium 2016/17
 
The allocation for 2016/17 is £6,600. This additional support is intended for:

  • Working with the teaching assistant in class reference high quality first teaching.
  • Receiving core Literacy and Numeracy lessons in a smaller group with extra support and interventions in reading and maths for 3 afternoons per week (increase on 2015/16 hours).
  • One to one support for specific children.
  • Support for educational trips, uniform, WAC, FSM.
  • Provision of reading materials 'code' for specific groups.
The respective children's progress and attainment is tracked and monitored carefully to ensure they achieve their full potential.
 
Pupil Premium 2015/16
 
The allocation for 2015/16 is £3,960. This additional support is intended for:

  • Working with the teaching assistant in class reference high quality first teaching.
  • Receiving core Literacy and Numeracy lessons in a smaller group with extra support and interventions in reading and maths for 2 afternoons per week.
  • Support for educational trips, uniform, WAC, FSM.
The respective children's progress and attainment is tracked and monitored carefully to ensure they achieve their full potential.
 
Pupil Premium 2014/15
 
The allocation for 2014/15 is £3,900. This additional support is intended for:

  • Working with the teaching assistant in class.
  • Receiving core Literacy and Numeracy lessons in a smaller group with extra support and interventions in reading and maths.
  • Support for educational trips.
The respective children's progress and attainment is tracked and monitored carefully to ensure they achieve their full potential.
 
Pupil Premium 2013/14
 
The school has a very small proportion of children who are eligible for pupil premium. In 2013/14 this increased to £3,900.This funding was used to provide additional support in the classroom to small groups of children to help them make the expected progress in their learning and to fund breakfast club sessions. The effect of this was pupils who made better than expected progress from their starting points.
